Katy Perry's praise for her track Runaway on her blog added to the musician's recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement and being fascinated at the sound it made. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but as a way to develop. They advised her to compose. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her most favored composers. After her mother said that the songs she composed were not meant to make her famous but instead to inspire people to realize the importance of their work and influence in our world at large, she began singing them in public. At age 6 She began playing the piano and at nine, started writing songs. Her family didn't be aware until 14. Aurora was not a goal. She just loves to write songs. Music to her is the only method of feeling anything.
