Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 when she released five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to work together on a few references. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she sang alongside Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to appear on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then, in November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times within the first seven days. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
